The overall purpose of the Foster & Adoption Ministry is to provide equipping, care, and support for members and regular attendees of The Village Church Denton who are either currently involved with foster care, have adopted, are in the adoption process, or are interested in learning more about fostering and adoption.

This is done through two avenues: the monthly Foster & Adoption Fellowship Group, and through roundtable meetings with current foster and adoptive families and others in our church who have experience with the CPS system.

Foster & Adoption Fellowship Group

The monthly Foster & Adoption Fellowship Group is for current foster and adoption families and families actively engaged in the process of becoming verified to be a foster home, or actively involved in the adoption process.

These meetings provide training and equipping via the Created to Connect Bible study, which provides a scriptural foundation for how we as foster and adoptive parents provide a healthy and therapeutic environment for children with potentially significant trauma in their background.  These meetings will also provide a period of time to share our experiences and struggles, to fellowship, and to pray for one another.

Child care is provided via the Little Village and Kids Village ministries.

Foster & Adoption Roundtable

The Foster & Adoption Roundtable meetings will be held a few times a year for members and regular attendees of The Village Church Denton. Participants may include those who are not currently involved with adoption or foster care but would like to learn more and to hear directly from foster and adoptive families, child welfare professionals, and others.
