DESCRIPTION:Every year\, The Village Church Denton serves thousands of our neighbors through our annual Thanksgiving banquet.  This year we will celebrate our 34th year of this banquet! \nBecause of the reality of COVID-19\, we will have to change the way we do the banquet but the heart is the same: to serve the most vulnerable in our community through food and the love of our Lord Jesus. \nThis year’s banquet will take place at Calhoun Middle School on Thanksgiving Day at 11 am. We’ll be offering a limited number of meals to-go for those who are interested.  There is not a need for volunteers this year  due to the format of the banquet. \nFor questions about the banquet\, please email John Warren. \n  \nServing \nHistorically\, we have hosted the meal at Calhoun Middle School and along with turning bread crumbs\, peeling potatoes and making butter from scratch\, the week of Thanksgiving has been spent creating handmade platemates and cards for community members comeing to eat with us. These have been a highlight – a simple way to express love\, dignity and welcome. \nThis year\, even though our Thanksgiving banquet will look very different\, we still have the opportunity to bless neighbors by making a card to go with each meal we distribute. \nPlease join us up at the church parking lot on Monday\, November 23 from 11:00am-1:00pm or Tuesday\, November 24 from 2:00-4:00pm for a card making extravaganza. The hope is to create or color 500 cards in preparation for Thursday. All supplies will be provided. If you would prefer to make cards at home and bring them by the church\, that is great too. Please plan to drop them off during one of the times listed above.

SUMMARY:Talking to Your Children About Sex and Sexuality
DESCRIPTION:Giving children a safe\, clear\, biblical vision for and understanding of sex and sexuality is an important part of parenting\, and it’s something many parents feel ill-equipped to do. \nIf you are the parent of an elementary or preschool age child\, or are expecting a child\, please join us on Saturday\, April 25\, for a Family Equipping Forum on Talking With Your Children About Sex and Sexuality. Our hope is to help equip parents with a healthy understanding of sex and sexuality and how to enstill that in their little ones\, even in their earliest years of life. Our time will be led by Jenna Mountain of Aspen Haus Associates. Jenna is a liscensed counselor and certififed sex therapist. She loves the Lord\, holds fast to God’s design for sex and sexuality and specializes in both helping people heal from sexual brokenness. She is passionate about equipping parents to have the right conversations with their children in the right way at the right time. \nWe will host this forum on Zoom. You will receive the link after you register. Feel free to invite friends\, family members or neighbors from outside our church to join us as well.
