DESCRIPTION:  \nSpin is our spring retreat for 6th – 12th grade students. It is an opportunity for students to pull away from their everyday lives and spend intentional time worshiping the Lord\, learning from the Word and growing in their relationships with Him and with their friends and leaders. This year we will be looking at 1 Peter 4 unpacking what it looks like to “…entrust our souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” \nParents/guardians and their child(ren) who are attending Spin will need to attend the Family Orientation on Sunday\, February 23rd from 10-11 a.m. This is a great opportunity to connect with other parents and your child’s leaders to pray together and link arms in ministry before the retreat. We want to equip you to prepare to send your child\, to pray for them while they are at the retreat on Friday and Saturday. DESCRIPTION:Giving children a safe\, clear\, biblical vision for and understanding of sex and sexuality is an important part of parenting\, and it’s something many parents feel ill-equipped to do. \nIf you are the parent of an elementary age child\, please join us on Saturday\, March 21\, for a Family Equipping Forum on Talking With Your Elementary Age Child About Sex and Sexuality. Our hope is to help equip parents with a healthy understanding of sex and sexuality and how to talk with their children in age appropriate ways. Our time will be led by Jenna Mountain of Aspen Haus Associates. Jenna is a liscensed counselor and certififed sex therapist. She loves the Lord\, holds fast to God’s design for sex and sexuality and specializes in both helping people heal from sexual brokenness. Starting with Advent\, followed by Christmas\, Epiphany\, Lent\, Holy Week\, Pentecost and Ordinary Time\, it has told and retold the story of Jesus using seasons within the historic church calendar. These movements of time have provided a way for the church to reenact and rehearse the true story of God coming to dwell with His people.\n\nThe historic church calendar has been an anchor point for the church in rehearsing the story of Jesus\, and it can serve the same purpose for family discipleship. In anticipation of Advent\, which marks the beginning of the Christian year\, we want to create an opportunity to help you better understand the historic church calendar with a particular focus on using it with your family.
