In 1971, at the age of 10, I came to Christ during a Sunday evening church service. However, it wasn’t until 1981 at a Dallas Holm concert that I truly felt convicted to embrace Christ. Mentors nudged me to study my Bible regularly and engage in daily prayer. They encouraged me to absorb deeper authors, many whom had reformed roots.
I met my wife, Lois, at a church in Des Moines through mutual involvement in youth musicals and gospel teams (a 70s thing). We married in 1985 and promptly moved to Texas. Seven years later, I accepted a position back in Des Moines, but we found our way back to North Texas in 1998. Our daughter, Brooke, is a nurse at Parkland and is married to a fine man, Jonathan Bowman. Our son, Jay, lives at home and studies at the University of Texas at Arlington.
