A Vision for Family Equipping

Parents, please join us as we share our vision and plan for encouraging and equipping you as you raise and disciple your children.
The hope for believing parents is to see their children come to genuine, saving faith in Jesus and walk faithfully through life with a growing love for God and their neighbors. The hope for the larger church family regarding the next generation is the same. Together, yet with distinct roles and degrees of responsibility, we labor to love, teach, shepherd and lead the next generation toward faithfulness in Christ.
As a church, we’ve started to recognize that the call to make disciples of the next generation, in many ways, needs to be primarily focused on equipping, encouraging and supporting parents as they seek to faithfully disciple their children. Certainly teaching and building relationships with children and students through age specific ministries like Little Village, Kids Village and Student Ministry is a key part of our collective faithfulness. But there is an increasing urgency around intentional and strategic equipping of parents and primary disciplers.
Over the past year, the elders, Next Gen staff and a team of parents have been prayerfully considering how our church can more faithfully come alongside parents. We are excited to share a new aspect of our church’s ministry called Family Equipping.
We’re inviting all parents to join us for either dinner on Friday, September 8th or breakfast on Saturday, September 9th as we share our hope for how the existing rhythms of our church life as well as new classes, forums and connecting opportunities might equip you in raising and discipling your child(ren). The content will be the same during both times, so you only need to come to one of them. Please register by September 4th using the link below.
In order to enable as many parents as possible to attend, we will provide Kid Keepers for children birth-5th grade. Understandably, our building can only hold a certain number of preschool age children safely at one time, so if you have another way for your children to be cared for, we would encourage you to explore that option first. Otherwise, please do not hesitate to register for Kid Keepers using the link below. We will not be feeding children a full meal during either meeting time but will provide a small snack.
