Art at The Village Church Denton

Exhibition Statement and Information

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-25

“Life in the Spirit” is a collaborative, open-call art exhibition open to all TVCD members and regular attendees of all ages and backgrounds. We are seeking artists from a variety of media who want to explore themes found in the above passage from Galatians 5. The exhibition will be hung with thematic sections, one for every fruit of the Spirit. At this time, we are not looking for literal interpretations of “love,” “kindness,” etc., but rather we want to see what unexpected, colorful, and interesting connections our artists will formulate. This exhibition also serves to commemorate our 10 year anniversary as an autonomous, local church.

Each person is allowed to enter up to three (3) artworks. Upon completing the entry form, artists should provide their own information, an image of the work(s), and indicate under which of the Fruits of the Spirit they would like for their work to be categorized.

Submission deadline closes promptly on Sunday, May 25th at midnight. No late submissions will be considered. Rules and guidelines for artwork may be accessed with the following link.
