Epiphany

Season of Epiphany

Salvation Made Known in Christ

January 6th to Ash Wednesday

Epiphany, which literally means “to show” is about Jesus Christ being revealed as both the divine Son of God and as Savior to the whole world. Focused on the coming of Jesus as the Song of God and the hope of the nations, Epiphany marks a time of celebration. During Christmas, we joyuflly celebrate the comof the light in that brith of Jesus. The Season of Ephiphany brings this theme to culmination – the light of the Christ made manifest to the whole world.

Three events in the life of Christ are associated with Epiphany: the visit of the wise men from the East, the baptism by John in the Jordan River, and the turning of water into wine at Cana. The common theme is manifestation: what has been hidden is made more widely known.¹
