Join us as we gather together for one service in the park on April 28. We will celebrate new life in Christ with baptisms, sing together and then enjoy lunch and fellowship. Please bring blankets, lawn chairs, games, etc.

What time is the service and how long will it last?

We encourage you to arrive at the park at 9am. This will give you time to drop off your carpool load, park, get shuttled and settled for the service to begin at 10am.

Where do I park?

Due to the limited parking at South Lakes, we’ll be utilizing McMath MS and Houston ES’s parkings lots in addition to South Lakes’ parking. To make this work, everyone must plan to carpool to the park. Feel free to use the church’s parking lot to leave your cars and carpool to the park.

We’ll direct drivers to the entrance of South Lakes Park to unload their passengers and carloads. From there, drivers will be directed to park in either McMath MS or Houston ES and  shuttle will pick up the drivers to bring them to the park. We’ll have volunteers ready to serve you and your family as you unload your car and bring chairs to the park. Anyone required more assistance, please make your needs known and we’ll work to accommodate you.  Please show up early to use the shuttle; we’ll start shuttling at 9am.

Shuttles will start shuttling back to McMath MS and Houston ESan hour after the service ends. We’ll make an announcement over a bullhorn for the start and end of our shuttling services.

Where will my kids go during the service?

There will be no Little Village or Kids Village, so your kids will worship with you! Understandably, small children may struggle to sit through the entire service without a break, so it is fine to get up and let them walk around or even make a quick trip to the playground if needed. You will be responsible for the children you bring with you throughout the service and picnic.

What do I need to bring with me?

Something to sit on – either a blanket or a lawn/camping chair. We will not provide seating, and there are not benches close by. We will also be outside without much shade, so think about what will help you be most comfortable and able to participate in the service: plenty of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Think about what your children might need to help them listen and participate as well. We will provide lunch and games after service, but feel free to bring extra snacks, games or sports equipment if you like.

Is there anything I need to leave at home?

We encourage you to please leave your pets at home.

What are we eating for lunch?

We’re serving barbecue for lunch and drinks will be provided. There will be gluten free options available.

What if it rains? We will monitor the weather and decide on Friday to cancel the service if rain seems likely. We will communicate that decision by email and then hold our regularly scheduled worship services that Sunday.
