Pastoral Resident
In the Lord’s sincere kindness, I was born to two incredibly loving, generous parents. Growing up, church was a nice, predictable addition to our lives that were otherwise uninterested in God. Our spirituality consisted of going to church most Sundays, praying before dinner, and having bibles in our home.
This quiet indifference was disrupted in the summer of 2006 when the Lord brought my family to a new church. My parents had reached a tough spot in their marriage and knew something needed to change. Accepting an invitation from my dad’s co-worker, we found ourselves at The Village Church in Highland Village. It was during our time at The Village that the spiritual climate in my home began to move from indifferent to sincere.
A few months into attending The Village, I went on a weekend student ministry retreat as a 6th grader where the Lord undeniably made known his love for me in Jesus. I had always believed God existed, but I experienced His love for me at that retreat in a way that I have yet to recover from. Coincidentally, the preacher at that retreat was Beau Hughes.
I was baptized the summer before my sophomore year in high school as I grew increasingly interested in following the way of Jesus. Also in high school, I felt a clear call to pursue theological education to prepare for a lifetime of pastoral ministry. This led me to live in Chicago for 7 years to study at Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
During my time at Moody I met my wife, Anu, and we were married after my first year of seminary. The Lord has been beyond kind to us in our almost 7 years of marriage. This is most clearly testified to by the life of our son Jude and our daughter who is expected, Lord willing, to make her entrance into the world September 2025!
We are so grateful for the Lord leading us here to The Village Denton and look forward to serving this church family however we are able.
