Alyssa Moore

Preschool Minister

I grew up in a believing household with many sweet memories of my mother playing worship songs on the piano as we got ready for school in the morning and hunched over the kitchen table late at night studying the Word. We would have family devotionals at my grandparents house on Christmas and summer Bible studies with my sisters. I can not think of a time that I did not recognize the name of Jesus or understand who He was, but I called Him Savior on the 4th of July around the age of seven. Our church held a worship concert on their lawn with a traveling choir—a favorite summer tradition—and I responded to the presentation of the gospel. After the concert, I pulled away with my parents and prayed for forgiveness of my sins and confessed my belief in Jesus as Lord. A few years later, I was baptized by my father in a friend’s pool. Over many years, I continued to be poured into by faithful brothers and sisters in the church. I grew in love, knowledge and joy in the Lord throughout middle school and high school.

In college, I struggled to transition from being surrounded by Godly influences to navigating young adulthood with conflicting views and not a lot of Biblical community. I wanted to love the Lord AND all the things the world had to offer me. I often chose to delight in the world and yet God was so faithful to me during that time and consistently called me back home. Toward the end of my time at college, I met my husband and moved to the Denton area. We began attending TVCD and my relationship with the Lord began to flourish.

Now I call it a joy to serve families alongside my brothers and sisters. My hope is to see men, women and children grow in love, knowledge and delight for the Lord. I want to see Him revered among generations and for those generations to be a witness to His glory in Denton and the world.
